Collision avoidance tasks influenced by the passage schedule and fuel saving aspects are to solve from the ferry bridge crews after leaving the port. The navigators have to find out within the task triangle “collision avoidance”, “time schedule constancy” and “fuel consumption minimizing” the best or a satisfying solution for every sea passage. But often dense traffic situations may very quickly cause high level and complex questionnaires in this triangle.

Especially the effects of dense transit traffic and ferry’s time schedule in different correlations are focused in the R&D project “Strategische Routenplanung”. The project is cooperation between the MARSIG Company Rostock, the DLR Neustrelitz and the SIW at the Wismar University.
