Institute for Applied Medical Technology
Welcome!
Modern medical technology combines engineering, natural sciences and medicine in an interdisciplinary manner to develop technical devices, instruments and procedures for prevention and diagnosis, as well as for therapy and rehabilitation in medicine.
The Institute for Applied Medical Technology at Wismar University of Applied Sciences is an association of researchers who are actively involved in the field of medical technology.
The institute is also a point of contact for medical technology students and offers laboratories and topics for internships and final theses.
It connects research assistants and doctoral candidates working in this field.

Applied Medical Technology, B. Sc.
Bachelor's programme
The increasing digitisation, automation and general technologisation of medicine requires specialists who, in addition to a solid education in mechatronics, also have a basic knowledge of medicine.
The Bachelor's programme in Applied Medical Technology, B. Sc. therefore focuses on teaching skills that enable the targeted development of mechatronic medical devices in compliance with legal quality and testing criteria.
