Wifi
eduroam is the standard academic network at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and is available to all members of Wismar University of Applied Sciences. This network gives you worldwide access to the Internet at all participating institutions. Access to eduroam at Wismar University of Applied Sciences is via easyroam. This access is not based on passwords but on certificates, which are provided to you as a so-called profile.

Central User Login
Central User ID
At the start at our university, an central user login will be set up for you. This gives you access to the most important IT services. You will receive this on paper along with your student ID card. This ID is essential, so please keep your login details safe and handle them with care.
User Account Management
The user account management (ums) is a service that allows you to change your password or to view your personal data. You can find the user account management at https://ums.hs-wismar.de/
Every student automatically receives an email address of the University with his or her computer center login.
The e-mail address is used for all university-related (e.g. examinations, dates etc.). To make sure you don't miss any information, you can redirect all emails to your private email address.

Video Conferencing System
BigBlueButton
Our primary video conferencing system is BigBlueButton, or ‘BBB’ for short; all data is stored on servers at Wismar University of Applied Sciences and the University of Rostock. Our video conferences are linked via the courses in Stud.IP or managed within a more open system.
It is possible to hold BBB conferences in your smartphone or tablet browser without having to install an additional app. You can find further information about our video conferencing systems here.
