Come and join us at Wismar University of Applied Sciences,
Warnemünde campus …

... because we embrace diversity.
Democracy and diversity are put into practice every day through peaceful, cosmopolitan coexistence characterised by mutual respect.
In this way, Wismar University creates an ideal environment for learning, working and research, in which decisions are made on the basis of constructive, democratic discourse.

... because the beach is just round the corner.
It’s particularly easy to study with your feet in the sand. Putting the book aside and just gaze out at the sea? That works too, of course ;) And if you’d rather get active instead of lazing about on your towel, there are plenty of sports to enjoy on Warnemünde’s 5 km-long Baltic Sea beach: windsurfing and kitesurfing, jogging, sailing, diving …

... because we know how to have fun!
Staff from the Department of Maritime Studies, Systems Engineering and Logistics aren’t just to be found in lecture theatres, seminar rooms or laboratories. They’ll be jogging alongside you along the promenade to the lighthouse during the 'Warnemünde Stapellauf', turning up in fancy dress for the annual Carnival lecture, and joining in the celebrations when it’s time for ‘Campus Awakening’ again in spring!

... because we're really sporty!
Diving or dancing, yoga or volleyball, weight training or rowing, basketball or Ultimate Frisbee – the choice is yours, and you’ll meet loads of great people along the way. As a student at our Warnemünde campus, you can make use of the sports facilities offered by the University of Rostock and you’re guaranteed to stay fit!

... because we're taking you along.
Fancy going on an excursion? Then you’ve come to the right place, because sometimes you just need to get out. So we’ll leave the campus and observe the complex, finely tuned rhythm of modern production facilities. Or watch first-hand how raw materials and goods make their way from A to B. Or walk through shipyard halls. Or lots more besides …

… because we’re brilliant at simulation.
We ensure that you don’t lose your orientation on the high seas. At the state-of-the-art Warnemünde Maritime Simulation Centre (MSCW), it is possible to carry out a joint simulation of nautical and technical ship operations whilst simultaneously involving the shore-based traffic control centres. This is how we prepare you for the world’s oceans in the ‘dry dock’!

... because we know how to celebrate.
With us, you’ll always get a good dose of music. Dance at the campus festival until your legs get tired and join the party crowd at the start-of-term parties. The events are organised by our student club, Sumpf e.V., and the team is delighted to welcome anyone who fancies playing an active part in shaping campus life!

... because you’re welcome here even when you’re still at school!
Our maritime competition, Port2Port, invites school pupils to complete a logistics course as efficiently as possible using a DIY boat. There are no limits to creativity when building the boat, but technical know-how and strategic skill are also required. Who will reach the finish line first?

... because you can hang out here too.
Our campus offers you plenty of opportunities to meet up with your fellow students, have a coffee together, or simply sit in the sun and have a chat. On those rainy Nordic days, you can always find shelter at Sumpf e.V., where you’re welcome to play table football or skat.

... because Rostock is a brilliant town!
Rostock is a thriving student city. Those who live here will find streets with a lively, big-city atmosphere and paths where you can cycle out into the countryside in no time; they meet up in the pub districts in the evenings, dance in various clubs and at countless live concerts, watch good films in arthouse cinemas, and sit by the harbour watching large ships and small boats go by.
