In the age group for pupils from Year 9 upwards, pupils from KGS Sternberg took all three top places. We congratulate Leon, Lottie and Hannah on first place, Jonas, Lars and Jan on second place, and Lotta on third place.
The sturdiest bridges in the under-Year 8 category were built by Frida from the CJD Rostock (first place), Janne and Jari (second place) and Albert and Franz V. (third place) from the Christliche Münsterschule Bad Doberan.
Third-place winners Albert and Franz V. were also awarded a prize for the most attractive bridge.
The funniest bridge – a ‘chips bridge’ – was built by Jori, Mia and Nele from the Gymnasium Fridericianum in Schwerin.
The more than 100 pupils came from Bad Doberan, Rostock, Schwerin, Sternberg, Torgelow and Wismar.
The bridges had to be made of paper, weigh less than 200 grams and be at least 40 cm long. They were tested in the Structural Engineering Laboratory of our Department of Civil Engineering.
