To mark their special anniversary, our alumni from seminar group M72b were presented with the “50 Years as an Engineer” certificate of honour. The group studied from 1 September 1972 to 28 February 1976 at what was then the Wismar University of Engineering, in the Mechanical Engineering Technology Section.
Despite the hot weather, the guests enjoyed a packed programme – in addition to a talk on today’s Wismar University of Applied Sciences, they visited, amongst other things, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Roland Larek’s Production Technology Laboratory, the former student halls of residence on campus and on Bürgermeister-Haupt-Straße (then known as Wilhelm-Pieck-Ring), as well as the construction site for the new building housing the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering and Environmental Technology.
Following this reunion, as well as the previous ones held in 2017 and 2022, everyone hopes to return in five years’ time to reminisce together once more during a guided tour of the new building.
