On Thursday, 4th June 2026, at 11:00 a.m., during the University Information Day and the StuWi at the Wismar campus, Prof. Annette Leyener’s artistic installation “Weisheit mit Löffeln fressen…” will be unveiled in front of the University Library.

A joint project by Prof. Annette Leyener, Prof. Dr Guido Bolle and students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design and the Faculty of Engineering, with the support of Dr Sivlia Städtke and the Central Workshop of Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences. Professor Leyener officially retired on 1st March 2023. Her area of expertise was “Foundational Art Studies, with a particular focus on the study of nature”. She currently lives and works in Düsseldorf.

“I developed the artistic design; the concrete casting is now a gift to the university. It has always been important to me that studying is fun, that you get to the bottom of things using different methods. Learning, being amazed and fascinated – I’ve always found that important. This artistic contribution to the campus is intended to encourage people to reflect on learning,” says Leyener of the project.

Opening remarks by Prof. Annette Leyener and Prof. Dr Guido Bolle.
